Big Blue
  • Just figured that win deserved a thread. I confess, I wasn't optimistic going in. Damn fine performance. Bradshaw throwing down Nate Allen was a thing of beauty!!

  • It was a great win. It's rather funny rereading the predictions and the trash talking made before the game. GO BIG BLUE!!! =D>
  • The Giants never get the credit they deserve...with that said Jerry Reese definitely could have done a better job in the offseason...I don't think I have been this excited about a win since We took out the Pats in the superbowl...hopefully this will ignite the spark...Go Big Blue
  • Give me a few more weeks of this past Sunday and I'll start to relax. In the meantime, a lifelong, very long fan, but still a bit pessimistic.

Sam Huff, Andy Robustelli, Jim Katcavage, YA Tittle, Del Shofner, in their prime, would make me feel a whole lot better.

But it ain't much better than beatin' the Iggles and having Vick, cry like a baby.

  • I thought my beloved G-Men were in for a beating this Sunday. What a pleasant surprise. A lot of guys stepped up. The obvious ones are Victor Cruz, and Aaron Ross. Eli was awesome in this one though.

Don't forget Jason Pierre-Paul and Mathias Kiwanuka, as well as Boley, Canty, and Phillips.

I'm also really enjoying the camaraderie between Bradshaw and Jacobs. You can just tell they're great friends and very committed to winning games. I'm cautiously optimistic. Especially since the 'skins are no longer undefeated and 50/50 in the division.

ETA: I missed mentioning Corey Webster, who has been one of the most solid corners the Giants have ever had.

  • Just 6 posts? MOL does not have many Giants fans.
  • I actually think that when the dust settles we'll be appreciating Jerry Reese's decision making this past off-season. Not getting a LB seemed to be the biggest criticism, especially when Goff went down, yet Jacquian Williams looked great on Sunday and Greg Jones has shown potential. Reese's draft instincts again prove pretty good. Linval Joseph is quickly coming into his own, so letting someone else shell out for Cofield is starting to look smart. If Cruz proves to indeed be a contributor, or better yet, a playmaker, letting a banged-up Smith go and not overextending for Plax may have been good moves. Okay, we haven't filled the Boss void at TE, but then it would've taken a lot of $$$ to keep him, and solid as he had been, he's not Tony Gonzalez. Oh, bringing in Weatherford wasn't exactly a bad decision either.

bets....GREAT comment about Bradshaw and Jacobs. If the two RBs sharing the load didn't get along or have good "team" attitudes, could be very different. Griping about carries, etc. Those two deserve a TON of credit for maintaining good attitudes that unquestionably are bringing positive overall results for the team. I especially praise Jacobs, who early last year looked like he might NOT be so agreeable to a reduced role. He is a true Giant.

  • Though Tuck and Umenyiora are both listed as questionable for Sunday, both said they expect to play.

I would not want to be on the O line for Arizona...
  • I'm really glad Victor Cruz is starting to come into his own this year. Saw his potential during the pre-season last year and was hoping they would play him then, but giving him a year to mature definitely seems to have worked for the team. Hope he gets some more shots at TD this season.

I hear you Train on the TE situation. My wife has a thing for Giants Tight Ends, and every time I buy her a jersey we end up losing him that year. I think I might just get her a car flag this year... ;-)

    You know it!
  • Double wow!! That was something!
  • OK -- how many Giants fans expected them to be 3-1 at this point, with the Eagles at 1-3? Not me.

It's been great so far, but let's hope they get some more wins in the next few weeks, because the second half schedule is brutal.
  • Really something!! Go Big Blue!!

    Current Standings:
    Giants 3 - 1
    Redskins 3 - 1
    Cowboys 2 - 2
    Eagles 1 - 3
    =D>
  • Yeah, how 'bout them Lions chipping in and taking down the Cowboys?
  • You will never win another Super Bowl with that yutz Eli at QB
  • Stud as he is, Victor Cruz needs to stop with the one-hand thing -- THAT'S what caused that last pick, IMHO. Great when it happens spontaneously like on the highlight TD, but in traffic at crunch time, you need to be fundamentally sound. Two hands, please.

Oh, and ditto what bets said.

  • Sbenois,

You may yet regret those words. Eli didn't lose the game, the lack of a ground game and a defense that has disappeared, is to blame

Eli stinks. Sorry. Even today, Archie is a better QB.

  • We're just going to have to agree to disagree. Since Eli has been the starting quarterback the Giants have the best record in the NFC East, so what does that say about all the QB's in the conference.
  • It says they all stink. Even Eli.

Aaron Rogers is roughly 800 times better than Eli.
  • Eli is not a great QB, he is inconsistent and he throws a soft ball, but he does get the job done in the clutch - mostly. What he does well is the timing patterns and what is missing are receivers who run accurate routes.

However the last play is all Eli's fault. He made a stupid decision and the pass was off target.

    Aaron Rogers is exponentially better.
  • the INT at the goal line was not Eli's fault. Cruz slipped coming out of his break, otherwise the pass would have been right on target.

    still, a terrible loss.
  • They never should've thown that pass to Cruz. With that much time remaining, they should've run the ball at least 3 times.
  • maybe without the penalty, they do, but the ground game was awful again yesterday.
  • I don’t think it’s about anybody’s technical performance, Manning or Cruz or whomever. I just don’t sense the Giants have the fire in the belly. They come across as a team that’s not focused on winning.
  • Let's get 'er done today, boys!
  • Way to get 'er done today, boys!
  • The defense just absolutely scares the hell out of me.

  • ok im hear to break dwn this game for you all. if you have watched this game then you will know that he giants got lucky. omg where they lucky. even tho the score was close, buff was bustin dat ass. they would get completions like nothing and then run it str8 up middle field. im not a buff fan but the way they playin this yr... they are the better team

  • Hmmm. Game I watched saw Jackson run it str8 up the middle of the field ONCE, in the first quarter, for a stunning 80-yarder, then gain all of 40 more yards the rest of the game. Game I watched saw Eli "get completions like nothing" on the Bills defense a lot more so than Fitzpatrick did on the Giants. Game I watched saw the Giants make plays when they had to, where ultimately the Bills did not. This was a good, close, competitive game, with the Giants neither allowing a sack nor committing a turnover. How that's an "omg lucky" win, I'm afraid I don't see. Now the win in Arizona, I admit that's a different story...

    Where's the "Like" button?

  • no my man, i didnt mean that buff ran it up the field like nothing. im sayin they where gettin completions like nothing and after the catch, ran it str8 up the middle mutiple times. the game was close but besides for a couple of key plays by the giants... buff definately would have won that game and they are definately the better team. its just to bad that there are to many giants fans bloggin to c the truth
  • I didn't say the Giants were necessarily better. In fact, no one did, and there's been barely any posts about the Giants. No need to see trouble where it ain't. Bills are good, no doubt. And believe me, I haven't forgotten how the Giants looked against 'Zona and Seattle. No delusions here -- just happy with what I thought was a solid bounce-back performance. 'Tis all. Keepin' it friendly.
  • The Giants seem, hopefully, to be trying a new tactic. The last couple of years they started strong and faded down the stretch. Maybe this year they will find their mojo later in the season. They have to improve their running game and tighten up on defense to be better than a pack team with eight or so wins.

I have to say that Eli was pretty impressive on Sunday.
  • SIGN T.O. just to mix it up a little
  • Looks like everyone is good to go Sunday except Hynoski. We'd better nail it on Sunday because the schedule after Miami is pretty brutal...
  • BTW, this thread reminds me a lot of some threads back in 2007, specifically:

Hmmm....hope I didn't speak too soon. Well, Jacobs has been bitching again about reduced role....now's his chance to step up with Bradshaw shelved.
  • bradshaw thinks hes 250lbs but he is not
  • bradshaw thinks hes 250lbs but he is not

    That's pretty random!

I hope Bradshaw plays Sunday and that he and Jacobs can resuscitate the two-pronged attack that was so successful at the start of the season. We're really going to need that through this difficult final stretch, and with the receiver corps hurting, the ground game has to pick up.

  • Bradshaw broke his foot...I'm mentally preparing myself for a rough one up in New England...Hopefully our pass rush pulls through like they did in the superbowl otherwise it's going to be a long day for Big Blue
  • WOW! Hope everyone's a bELIever now!!! ^:)^

    Nice touch! Great win.

  • great game but it was lucky tho lol. to close to call. giants played fantastic and yet ne was still on that ass. eli should have got the td pass tho instead of the interception. he should have threw the ball on 2nd instead of running it
  • ELIte ! :-D
